It was back in 1741 when a Dane, Vitus Bering,
who was at the time working for the Russians along
with Alexei Chirikov, who discovered what is now
known as Alaska and the Aleutian Islands. With Alaska
in land size 1/5th that of the continental United
States, by 1867 when William Seward the Secretary
of State for the United States arranged for the
purchase of the land at $0.02 per acre, most of
the area was still unexplored. By 1898, the Alaskan
Gold Rush led to an influx of population by more
than 30,000 Americans and ever since then Alaska
has continued to contribute many billions of dollars
to the American economy through various products.
It was back in 1968 when the Prudhoe Bay oil and
gas reserves were discovered to contain more than
10 billion barrels as well as more than 27 trillion
cubic feet of natural gas. By 1977 the Trans-Alaska
pipeline was completed at a cost of just over $7.7
billion and travels the distance to the port of
Valdez.
Of the many things that Alaska has to offer though,
one of the most valuable is that of the natural
and untouched beauty of the countryside. From the
Denali National Park to the Valley of Ten Thousand
Smokes many people make their way to Alaska for
its serene beauty and closeness to nature.
As time went on, by the mid 1990's the internet
began to expand increasingly thanks to the recent
developments by Sir Tim Berners-Lee who was the
first person to build an actual website. The internet
had been used for many years previously but only
in text format through emails and bulletin boards.
Now anyone can simply do a search for Alaska and
see a great number of websites on the countryside.
Having a website back in the early to mid 1990's
was usually left for schools, government organizations
and businesses who had the money to do so, but now
as the cost of web hosting has decreased substantially
many people are wanting their own piece of internet
real estate.
While the original HTML (Hypertext Markup Language)
was fairly simple and straightforward, many things
about it have been changed and many new programming
languages have been created all in the purpose of
making visiting a website more enjoyable. Languages
like Flash and PHP have made website more visually
appealing as well as more interactive for its visitors,
but the languages themselves have become much more
complex.
It is for reasons like complexity that is just
so much simpler to rely on a web designer like eDesignerz
