When the nation started moving westward, Kentucky would be the very first region to the west of the Allegheny Mountains which would become an American Settlement. In 1774, the settlement of Harrodsburg was built and made its place into American history. The infamous Daniel Boone had already been through this area once back in 1767 and as a result of the founding of Harrodsburg, he arrived in the area once again after the settlement was established and sought towards blazing the trail through the Cumberland Gap on what had become known as the Wilderness Trail. Upon cutting through the Cumberland Gap and reaching the other side, Daniel Boone founded the settlement of Boonesboro.
