Louis Joliet along with Jacques Marquette back in 1673 where French explorers who were considered to be the very first European explorers to record visiting the region which is know called the State of Illinois. By 1699 the French were also the first to establish a settlement in Illinois when Cahokia was established in what is now known as East St. Louis.
In 1763 due to the French Indian Was, Great Britain would take control of the region from France and then eventually it would cede to the United States after the Revolutionary War. Illinois always stood as a prominent location throughout the early frontier struggles between the Union and the local Indians throughout the 19th century.
By 1825, with the completion of the Eerie Canal, the influx of immigrants and settlers to the area would change the state of Illinois forever. Soon after the completion of the canal, the Black Hawk War would finally end any and all confrontations between the Indians and the Union in the area that is now Illinois. Furthermore, this led to the ability for one man to grow up as a farmer to become one of the greatest presidents in American history; Abraham Lincoln.
As time went on, many changes occurred in Illinois
especially in the various industries which had found
their way to call Illinois their home. When the
1990's rolled around after the completion of the
world's first website and the starting of the Internet
Era, Illinois played an important role as many of
the universities in the state soon had their own
websites. This was followed by the various government
organizations and then ultimately by private corporations
as well as individuals.
While the very first website was developed using
the basic HTML programming language, this would
soon change as their was quickly an increased need
for a newer more robust language which could allow
better interaction between the website's visitors
and the webmaster. As a result many already existing
programming languages would be adapted to the internet
including things like Java and C+. This eventually
led to the creation of the JavaScript language as
well as PHP and Flash.
