The first European to step foot into what is now
known as Arizona was that of Marcos de Niza who
was a Franciscan friar. When coming to Arizona he
was in search of the Seven Cities of Gold. Several
years later his footsteps would be followed by Francisco
Vásquez de Coronado who would build the first
settlement that was mostly for missionary work.
By 1775 Fort Tucson was established and remained
under Spanish control until the end of the Mexican
War which in 1848 much of Arizona fell under U.S.
control. It would not be until the 1853 Gadsden
Purchase that the lowest portions of Arizona would
be added to the region finalizing this area of the
old west.
Some of the most infamous Indian Chiefs were from
the Arizona area and includes names like Cochise
as well as Geronimo. Tombstone also has its part
of infamy thanks to the O.K. Corral shootout with
names like Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday
As time went on one of the number one reasons for
people wanting to see Arizona was for its Grand
Canyon, one of the world's natural wonders. As the
advent of technology improved though, by the mid
1990's the internet started making its way into
Arizona. Originally only universities and government
institutions had their own websites, but with the
Silicon Valley not to far away it was only a matter
of time before the state grew as an important part
of the computer industry.
With increases in gas and electrical generation
seen throughout California, many computer industry
businesses made their way to Arizona for the lowered
costs. Today many great internet and computer companies
are either based out of or have offices in Arizona.
Names like GoDaddy and Honeywell are commonly heard
locally.
While most of the websites created during the earlier
years of the internet used the basic HTML language,
much has changed since those days. In order to make
websites more interactive and visually appealing
new languages have been developed or improved upon
and today it is commonplace to see languages like
PHP and Flash on almost any website. Unfortunately
though these are fairly complex languages and when
it comes down to it you should look to someone who
has the experience to supply a website as requested.
